12 Guiding Stars for Europe’s Future
A European Federation
Europe must become a sovereign, democratic federation. Only a federation can govern at the scale our challenges require: foreign policy, defence, borders, energy, the single market, and democratic rights protected at every level.
Defence and Foreign Policy
Europe cannot remain politically dependent, militarily fragmented, and strategically incoherent. We support a single European foreign policy and a genuine European defence capability under democratic federal control.
Europe in the World
A united Europe engages the world from a position of strength. It should defend its interests and values, support democratic partners, and champion global governance that reflects the multipolar reality of the 21st century.
Borders, Migration, and Justice
A federation must control its borders, enforce its laws, and govern migration in a way that is orderly, fair, and credible: open to talent, firm against abuse, and capable of acting across borders.
Energy Sovereignty
A Europe that does not control its own energy supply does not control its own destiny. Energy sovereignty means affordable, secure, clean domestic energy, connected grids, joint procurement, and a single European energy market.
The Digital Age
Europe must control the digital infrastructure and AI systems that shape its economy, security, and democracy. Digital sovereignty means European systems running on European infrastructure, subject to European law.
Fiscal Sovereignty
A federation without its own revenue is a flag without a country. Europe needs fiscal capacity equal to its responsibilities, with simpler taxation that shifts burden away from work and toward wealth, ownership, and shared federal priorities.
Prosperity Through Scale
Europe must grow, build, compete, and innovate at continental scale. Completing the single market, connecting the continent, and backing strategic European capacity can give founders and firms the scale to win globally.
A Human-Centered Economy
The economy should serve people, and whether it does should be measurable. Europe should track housing, health, education, work-life balance, environmental quality, and life satisfaction with the same seriousness it gives GDP.
Climate and Sustainability
Europe is the fastest-warming continent on Earth. We support ambitious, science-based climate and environmental policy because clean industry, restored ecosystems, circular manufacturing, and high standards are rational necessities.
Ambition and Discovery
Europe should embrace science, technology, beautiful construction, and discovery as instruments of human flourishing. Per Europam ad astra should be a literal aspiration for a sovereign, spacefaring Europe.
European Identity
We believe in a layered identity: European, national, and regional. A stronger Europe does not erase local roots; it gives Europeans shared agency, belonging, and responsibility in a world no single nation can shape alone.

Manifesto
The Need for Unity
Europe faces challenges that no single nation can meet alone: climate change accelerating beyond national borders, geopolitical competition from continent-scale powers, the fragmentation of the digital and energy infrastructure on which our prosperity depends, and a democratic deficit that leaves citizens feeling powerless over the decisions that shape their lives.
These are not isolated crises. Europe’s governance system is still anchored in the nation-state thinking of the 19th and 20th centuries. Despite decades of integration, Europe remains too fragmented to act effectively in a world of continental powers and continental problems. We have enormous economic weight, world-leading talent, and deep scientific capacity — but we cannot convert these assets into outcomes. Too many powers are locked at the national level, producing results that are unambitious, slow, and reduced to the lowest common denominator.
Who We Are
Astra Europa is a pan-European political party. We are federalist, pragmatic, and forward-looking. We believe in a democratic Europe with the power to act, the courage to protect freedom, and the ambition to build a future worth dreaming about.
We are not a protest movement or a single-issue campaign. We are building a political force capable of governing at European scale — winning seats in the European Parliament, building coalitions across member states, and advancing a federal Europe through democratic means.
We draw from across the political spectrum — liberals, social democrats, conservatives, and greens — united not by a single ideology but by a shared conviction: that Europe’s future depends on its ability to act as one. Our programme is built around twelve guiding stars: not a wish list, but an action programme for the Europe we intend to build.

The Way Forward
We do not promise revolutionary change overnight. We promise sustained, determined work toward a Europe that governs itself through a democratic federation, defends itself with its own strength, controls its own energy and borders, builds a thriving economy that benefits all Europeans, speaks with one voice in the world, and offers every generation a better future than the present. A Europe ambitious enough to build the next great particle accelerator, send Europeans to the Moon, and create architecture and culture that future generations will look back on with the same awe we reserve for the achievements of our past.
This will not be given to us. It must be built — politically, democratically, at every level of government from the local council to the European Parliament. It requires Europeans willing to organise, to stand for office, and to advocate for something larger than their national interest. Astra Europa exists to bring those Europeans together.
These twelve pillars are not a wish list. They are an action programme — each reinforcing the others, together forming the foundation of the Europe we want to build. The ingredients for European greatness already exist. What has been missing is the political will to assemble them.
