We are pleased to announce the outcome of elections held by Astra Europa to select members of an Interim Steering Committee. The committee is a six-person leadership team that will guide Astra Europa through the foundational phase of building the organisation from the ground up. The committee brings together a range of expertise, from law and policy to communications, digital infrastructure, and community development, reflecting the inter-disciplinary needs for realising the ambitious goal of building a pan-European political party.
Meet Our Interim Steering Committee
So, What Does “Interim” Mean?
The committee is deliberately created as a transitional structure. Over the next six months, the committee’s mandate is to lay the groundwork that Astra Europa needs to grow into a functioning political organization. That means setting the strategic direction, establishing our financial and operational foundations, beginning the development of the federal Astra Europa organization, launching additional national Astra Europa Chapters across Europe, and building a proper pipeline for new volunteers and members to join.
Once a formal federal Astra Europa legal entity is established, new elections will take place and the responsibilities of the Interim Steering Committee will be transferred to the elected officers of that legal entity.
What Comes Next?
We will soon be launching a call for volunteers and interested supporters together with an application form so that you can formally express your interest in getting involved.
